Education.com has posted this list of 50 books they reccomend every child should read before entering kindergarten. Obviously, it's not "required reading", they say, but books that "run the gamut from read-aloud to early reading, and deal with topical subjects (like fear of school), skills kids should master (such as the alphabet), and, [are] of course, flat-out fun." I agree that these are some great books, but I think my list might include some different choices, like Pete the Cat by Eric Litwin, Go Away, Big Green Monster by Ed Emberley, Rhyming Dust Bunnies by Jan Thomas, and The Lion and The Mouse by Jerry Pinkney.
What do you think of this list? What titles would you add?
