Activity Programs

Early Literacy skills can be developed in programs and activities other than storytimes. Here are some examples of special programs being held in libraries throughout Colorado and special early literacy learning tools available:

  • Poudre River Public Library District:
    •  Busy Buzzy Bugs
    • Toybox Theater: A Puppet Show Especially for Babies featured 4 short musical puppet plays alternating with 5 play-songs.
    • Play and Learn Centers designed by the Burgeon Group.  There are over 40 activities designed for children birth through age 5. 
    • Advanced Workstations in Education Early Literacy computers. Other libraries in Colorado also have these computers available to children and families. 
  • Windsor-Severance Library District: "Learning Center" featuring puzzles, interactives, manipulatives, sensory activities, and board books.
  • Arapahoe Library District's Nursery Rhyme Time
