You are an early literacy advocate if you share informal storytimes with children and their parents.
From Kristi Madron, High Plains Library District:
I use “Storywinks” – short and low pressure storytimes that do not include songs or fingerplays. Just select 2-3 books and take 10-15 minutes to read to kids at the library. You can read sitting next to them on a sofa or other comfy seating instead of just in the storytime area and can model reading to parents as you read to the kids in a less formal setting than a traditional storytime. Select at least one book that the child can check out immediately after you’re done reading it to them if they like.
