CLEL 12 January Update!

Happy New Year!

Here’s our monthly update on our new CLEL 12 project, a set of early-literacy related activities you are invited to complete this year. The actions were developed as basic building blocks, to help you strengthen your role as an early-literacy advocate, increase your participation in the early literacy community, further your own professional development and education, and expand your knowledge of the CLEL organization.

How are you doing with your own CLEL 12 Challenge? We've had a few more blog posts submitted as part of CLEL 12 and we have been excited to read the wonderful activities that are going on in your libraries and communities. Keep 'em coming! An event or program that feels old hat at your library may provide a brand-new idea to someone at another library!

We’d love to hear from more of you about your CLEL 12 projects. What have you accomplished? Are you working on something right now?

If you haven't had a moment to start your challenge yet, the new year is a great time to look at the list of actions and see where you'd like to start. Are you planning your winter storytimes? Why don't you head on over to Storyblocks and learn a new song or rhyme to present to your families?

When you're ready, there's a completion survey here and also linked at the bottom of every CLEL 12 page.
