Every Child Ready to Read

Every Child Ready to Read @ your Library, ® a joint project of the Public Library Association and the Association for Library Services to Children, is a hands-on, research-based program designed to help public libraries further their roles in helping children prepare to become readers and lifelong learners.

Here in Colorado (as elsewhere), library programs based on the Every Child Ready to Read curriculum and concepts serve both adults and the children for whom they care.

ECRR is based on current brain development research and has become a model for public libraries to train parents, caregivers, teachers and librarians in the six pre-reading skills that every child needs to be prepared to learn to read.

Currently, the content and materials for Every Child Ready to Read are being updated and will reflect the most current research and new strategies for teaching parents and caregivers about early literacy.
