Johnson County Library in Kansas has recently launched a new early literacy initiative called "6 by 6". Their website for the initiative includes parent-friendly descriptions of the 6 early literacy skills, book lists for each skill and videos of librarians demonstrating how to use fingerplays and share wordless books. Check out the oh-so-darling animal illustrations that were created for each skill (wish they had included the artist's name somewhere; I couldn't find it)! They've even got a twitter feed for sharing information with parents!
This is a great example of how a library can get the message out to parents via a variety of methods.

Great service!
How cool is this! I *love* their 6 animals and their fresh names for each skill. I have CLELorg following them on Twitter already--next to add links to their videos and resources from this website!
