A couple of weeks ago I came across the blog Vocabulogic: Bridging the Verbal Divide. The goal of the blog is to help educators with tips and strategies for developing children’s vocabulary skills.
The post I read was all about Every Child Ready to Read! “Helping Parents Become Strong Language and Literacy Partners: A Special Library Program to the Rescue!” It is exciting to see an educator promoting Every Child Ready to Read to other educators, and to hear how more libraries are incorporating early literacy into their programs and services every year. But I also found it interesting that neither of the people who left comments had heard of Every Child Ready to Read. It's a good reminder that although this initiative is very familiar to many of us, there is still room to grow!
