Note: CLEL will be posting a new Advocacy Tip every month. To see all the tips, click on the "Advocacy Tip" tag above.

April 10–16 is “National Library Week.” It would be a great time to email our elected officials to let them know that you care about early literacy and libraries. Lawmakers will be making some tough decisions in funding in our state and in the country as a whole. The governor’s and legislators’ staffs keep track of emails, letters, and phone calls that each office receives on different subjects and it really does influence their votes. Please send an e-mail to your governor and your representatives today, and pass this message on to your friends and colleagues.
Thank you for advocating for libraries and early literacy.
Do you have a great advocacy idea? E-mail it to the chair of our advocacy committee, Nancy Maday: nmaday@ppld.org
