SUMMARY:May Member Meetup
DESCRIPTION:Join us at our next meetup on May 13 from 1-2 (MST). \nWe will be sharing our own experiences and learn from others’ experiences as we brainstorm ways to manage program burnout. \nIn this hour together\, we will look for strategies and ways to support and combat the exhaustion and disengagement many librarians struggle with as program burnout sets in. \nWe host Member Meetups every other month as an informal way to network with other professionals around a topic relevant to youth librarianship. \nToday\, more so than ever\, it seems like librarians have an ever-increasing workload as we attempt to meet the needs of our patrons and community – sometimes with dwindling supplies and budgets as well. \nHere is the updated Zoom Link to take you to the meeting.\nhttps://us06web.zoom.us/j/89721081141?pwd=a41DIf2alcpYodWeWu8PZdpL6u5Jum.1 \nHope you can join us for a lively discussion!

SUMMARY:CLEL Member Meet-Up: Thoughts From Teachers Turned Librarians
DESCRIPTION:Many youth librarians come from the teaching world. What can our colleagues who have spent time in the classroom teach us about how to serve children? We would love to hear from teachers turned librarians who bring to our field a wealth of knowledge about reading\, learning\, child development\, classroom management skills\, and more. At this Member Meetup we invite former teachers to share their perspectives and experiences and non-teachers who want to learn from them. This is an informal conversation for members to chat and get to know one another around a topic relevant to youth librarianship.
