Early Literacy Resources Part 1: Earlier is Easier
Over the next few weeks, we'd like to take a brief moment to highlight different early literacy resources that can be shared with parents and care givers.
One amazing and concise place to start when talking with parents and care givers is Earlier is Easier. Earlier Is Easier is a collaborative of 27 Denver-area organizations working collectively to promote the value of interacting with children from birth to age three. Their site is an amazing source for tips, ideas and how to integrate early literacy practices into every day life.
The site is broken into six categories: Read, Talk, Sing, Play, Wright, and Laugh- similar to the five early literacy practices. Within each categories are three age groups: Birth-8 months, 9-18 months and 19 months to 36 months. This is a simple way for caregivers to target a specific age and tip. The site also features printable tips that could easily be hung up in public spaces.
We hope you enjoy this site and are able to get some great information. Watch for more sources of information in the coming weeks!
