Esta lista de 25 títulos, cinco para cada práctica de alfabetización temprana (LEER, ESCRIBIR, HABLAR, CANTAR y JUGAR), fue seleccionada entre 54 propuestas por nuestro comité.
We are pleased to announce the shortlist titles for the biannual Spanish CLEL Bell Awards.
This shortlist of 25 titles, five for each early literacy practice – READ, WRITE, TALK, SING, and PLAY – was chosen from 54 nominations put forward by our committee.

Había una vez…El fuego del dragón

A story about reading and adventure, featuring two friends with very different interests: one wants to surf, while the other wants to finish reading his book. In the end, the friend who thought reading was boring joins the book adventure—and eventually finds himself enjoying reading on his own. This story shows how enthusiasm for reading can inspire others to discover their own adventures through books.
BOOKIE Y COOKIE

Esta historia presenta a dos amigos dentro de un libro: uno en la página izquierda y el otro en la página derecha. Cada uno tiene su propio gusto favorito: a Bookie le encanta leer libros, mientras que a Cookie le gusta hornear galletas. Aunque al principio no están de acuerdo, finalmente prueban los intereses del otro y se dan cuenta de que salir de su zona de confort no es tan malo. This story features two friends inside a book—one on the left page and the other on the right. Each has their own favorite thing: Bookie loves reading books, while Cookie enjoys baking cookies. Although they initially disagree, they eventually try each other’s interests and realize that stepping outside their comfort zones isn’t so bad. This leads them to discover exciting new adventures together.

Fortunately, he knows just where to turn—a quiet, cozy library filled with books and knowledge. There, he eagerly searches for guidance on how to properly care for his plant. Through reading, the boy learns everything a plant needs to grow strong and healthy.

Por otro lado, el libro presenta hermosos colores e ilustraciones, un diseño tipográfico legible y aborda el tema de la escritura desde diferentes perspectivas, incluyendo el uso del lápiz y la imaginación. Nos encantan las ilustraciones y creemos que este libro animará a los padres y cuidadores a hablar con los niños sobre la escritura y la imaginación.
This book offers a wonderful narrative, providing children with a chance to imagine all the experiences they might one day have and stories they could write if they were authors. It also creates a lovely opportunity for parents and caregivers to connect through similar stories and perhaps even write their own.
Furthermore, the book features beautiful colors and illustrations, good print awareness, and talks about writing in many different ways, including the use of pencils and imagination. We particularly love the illustrations and believe this book would invite caregivers to talk about writing and imagination with children.

Me parecen muy interesantes los elementos interactivos, como el trazar los números y el recorrido del gusano, así como la posibilidad de contar los objetos de las imágenes. Estas características fomentan eficazmente la interacción entre el cuidador y el niño.
This book offers excellent interaction opportunities between caregivers and children. I particularly appreciate the interactive elements, such as tracing numbers and the worm’s path, and the ability to count items in the pictures. These features effectively encourage caregiver interaction.

This picture book contains simple text and has a certain poetic, musical feel. Although it lacks a rhyme, we appreciate how the music mirrors nature both in sound and content. The reader could definitely reflect on the musical sounds in nature from their own surroundings and the musical connection between humans, environment, ancestors; singers, dancers, and musicians. Detailed illustrations are wonderful.
