The 2026-27 Spanish CLEL Bell Committee is reviewing children’s Spanish picture books published between June 2025 and June 2027 that fall within the early literacy practices: Jugar/Play, Leer/Read, Cantar/Sing, Hablar/Talk, and Escribir/Write.
This award uses common criteria with the English CLEL Bells Award, but in addition, we are looking for books that fall under one or more of the following guidelines:
- Originally published in Spanish
- Published as a bilingual Spanish and English title
- A quality Spanish translation originally published in English or other language.

Shortlist books will be announced in late August/early September 2027 and Winners will be announced during the 2027 CLEL Conference.
